Additional Paternity Leave

The additional paternity leave for fathers will be brought into force on 3 April 2011. This is for the couples who wish to share the Mothers ‘Maternity Leave’ and transfer remainder of leave to the father/partner responsible for the child. The mother must have taken the first 20 weeks and have at least 2 weeks remaining of their leave. Both employers must be notified (28 days for Mother and 8 weeks for father/partner).
