VAT Returns Deadline Date Brought Forward Due to Royal Wedding

The due date for March paper VAT Returns and payments has been brought forward to 28 April 2011, due to the Royal Wedding.

The Royal Wedding on 29 April has been declared a bank holiday - therefore for the accounting period ending 31 March 2011, paper VAT Returns must be received no later than the last working day of the month - Thursday 28 April.

Cheque payments must clear HM Revenue & Customs's account by the same date (cheques take three bank working days to clear - bank working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays).
